Supported MIDI devices
Automation
General MIDI controllers supported
FL Studio supports all generic MIDI controllers that use absolute
value knobs and sliders. Supported devices include:
- Keyfax Phatboy
- Doepfer Drehbank & Pocket control
- all other standard MIDI controller devices
Custom MIDI controllers supported
FL Studio supports several types of custom MIDI controllers.
Features supported include endless (relative) knobs, switch
controls, support for jog and transport controls. To enable the
advanced features of your custom MIDI controller, you need to
select it in the Control Surface list in the
MIDI settings window. If the
device is not listed, it is not supported - this does not mean it
won't work at all, just some of the special (non standard) controls
may not function correctly.
Currently the supported devices in this category include:
- Peavey StudioMix
- Tascam US-428
- Edirol PCR-30/50
- Hercules DJ Console
- Korg MS-20 Controller
- Korg microKONTROL
- Korg KONTROL49
- Alesis Photon X25
- UF Omnipotent Master Keyboard
- Frontier Design TranzPort
Other similar devices will probably function correctly, set the
controller type to Generic if in doubt.
USB & MIDI keyboards
FL Studio supports all MIDI keyboards, keyboard synthesizers with
MIDI output and all other similar devices with General MIDI output.
To play a synth in FL Studio using an external keyboard, select its
channel in the Step Sequencer.
Multimedia keyboards
If you have a multimedia keyboard you can use the
Play/Pause button to Start/Pause FL Studio, the
Stop button will stop FL Studio and return the
song position marker to the beginning of the Play List. The
FF/RW buttons will jump between Play List Time Markers if present.
